It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our esteemed leader, co-founder, and past president, Brian Simpson, on July 15, 2026.

Since co-founding Compassionate Community Care (CCC), with Alex Schadenberg, Brian provided invaluable guidance, steadfast leadership, and a deep dedication to our mission. He played a pivotal role in the growth of Compassionate Community Care, implementation of its many programs, successful initiatives, and life-saving mission.

Beyond his professional contributions, we will deeply miss Brian’s warmth, humour, open and caring attitude, sharp intellect, and unwavering faith and optimism.

We recall many occasions when Brian's expertise, wisdom, and compassionate nature helped guide complex situations toward calm, thoughtful, and life-affirming resolutions. He is deeply admired and respected for his countless contributions, his exceptional character, and his unwavering commitment to the organizations he founded, which continue to provide hope and support to countless individuals.

Regarded by many as a fatherly figure, Brian will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, worked alongside him, and were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to serving others. The lives he impacted in so many meaningful ways will continue to bear witness to his enduring influence.

Visitation will be held at Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe on Saturday 6-8 p.m., Sunday 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints Catholic Church 124 Front Street E. Strathroy on Monday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m.

Family interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
